Expert of the Foresight CentreOlavi holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany and has additionally studied economics at doctoral level at the University of Helsinki. He has worked as an economist at the Central Bank of Estonia in both the Research and Financial Stability Departments. He has also been invited several times there as a visiting researcher. In addition to his public sector experience, Olavi brings nearly six years of expertise as an Energy Markets Strategist at Eesti Energia.

It is likely that in the event of a dispute, the employment status of platform couriers and platform taxi drivers would be classified as an employment relationship in Estonia, according to a legal analysis commissioned by the Foresight Centre. In Europe, most court disputes have resulted in platform workers being classified as employees, and the platforms have changed their work organisation after that.
