Märt Masso
Expert of the Foresight CentreMärt has graduated from the Central European University with a degree in social studies, with focus on employment and working conditions, and is currently working on his doctoral studies in the University of Tartu. He has previously worked as an analyst in the think tank Praxis, with main emphasis on analysing employment and social protection. He has also worked in the public sector where he acquired real-life experience in policy shaping and implementation. Märt has over 20 years of experience in conducting studies and political analyses both in Estonia and internationally as a project manager and analyst, and he has used both quantitative and qualitative methods.

16.03 2024Estonian prosumers consume more energy from the distribution grid than they produce
There are nearly 10,000 households in Estonia that both consume electricity from the distribution grid and produce electricity for the distribution grid. The calculations of the Foresight Centre indicate that on 130 days a year on average, the amount of energy supplied to the grid by households is greater than the amount of energy taken from the grid. In the case of prosumers who are legal entities, the amount of energy supplied to the distribution grid is greater than the amount consumed 96 days a year.
